The only way to fix this is to open computer and remove memory modules and then reboot. I have found that when I have mac hooked to monitor and either sleep or shut down while it is connected to the monitor and unhook it and try to power it up I will get the beeps. I also have my computer hooked up to a monitor through the mini display port. I have a mid 2012 macbook pro with i5 and integrated graphics. The memory worked fine for a while but then I had it happen again to me last week. I am dead serious.I have experienced a similar problem and sent my memory modules back in to crucial to get replaced. a beeping sshd means that the hard drive IS NOT SPINNING and is OVERHEATING i don't care but you have to take the time to rule out that it is not the SSHD that is beeping!!!!! this could be the most incorrect mac rumors post ever. If you can't hear the drive spinning but you can hear the beep, it means you really shouldn't be using that drive. If it fixes it, then i am right, otherwise, your hard disk will probably overheat and dieĪnother quick way to rule out this crazy but true post of mine is to pick up your computer while it is sleeping and and making that beep sound and stick it to your ear to listen for the hard drive spinning Recommend restoring to a conventional hard disk to rule this outĪ mechanical 7200 rpm would be okay to try out

Mac goes to sleep, lowers power to SSHD and the SSHD starts chirping to tell you its not getting enough power. Other then SSHD i Never ever heard of a mac beeping when it is asleep.

The beeping is a warning from the hard disk that it is not getting enough power.
